1. Set the mention source type Choose the data type users will be able to mention (e.g., User, Category, Tag).

2. Provide a mention source list
Bind a dynamic list of Things that the plugin will use as valid mention options.

3. Select the display field
Choose which field from each Thing will be shown and matched as a mention label.

4. Configure mention highlighting (optional)
Enable highlight_mentions and set background and font colors if you want mentions to be visually styled inside the input.

5. Enable snippets (optional)
Turn on enable_snippets to show a suggestion popup when typing your trigger key.
You can also adjust:

snippet_box_placement (top or bottom)

snippet_box_auto (auto repositioning)

snippet_limit (max option count)

mention_trigger_key (default "@")

6. Retrieve detected mentions
Use exposed states to access structured mention data:

mentions_list → list of matched Things

mentions_labels → labels extracted from input

has_mentions → yes/no

summary → readable summary

input_data → raw input text

7. Place the element on the page
Resize it like any standard Bubble input. The plugin automatically matches your page’s font and style settings.
